Back in 2005 there was a contest to create a Mascot for an anime convention known as Anime Los Angeles or ALA.
I entered the piece you see below and she was chosen! I called her Ala after the convention itself.
The three pieces below I drew and were used for various signs and whatnot for the convention in 2006.
Here are some black and white drawings I did. Very simple, but sometimes I just needed to get a flow for drawing her.
The first one I was trying to work out some facial expressions for her after I asked a friend for advice.
The second were some chibis that were used on some bandanas.
The last two I actually drew in my hotel room while attending the convention in 2006.
Since ALA started having Lolita inspired events I drew her in a lolita outfit I designed. This drawing was used on a postcard in the corner rather like a "stamp".
The next two are pieces that were my entries for the third and fourth postcard contests in 2007. Neither were chosen, but you can see them here!
In the first picture Ala is of course the girl to the left in yellow and white (her official colours!)
For the second one I decided Ala needed a school uniform like any anime girl and this was the result.
I used a CG background compared to what I normally use and liked how it turned out.
I'm working on drawing more and will have a few more to post once I get it all organized.

Also if you have ever attended the convention the program book usually features her and has many drawings throughout by various artists of her as well.
